Our Story
Hi, I’m Courtney Crawford, the heart and hands behind Homemaker and an Acre. My journey into natural living started the moment I became a mom. Each of my three children faced their own challenges with sensitive skin and food allergies, and I quickly realized how important it was to know exactly what was going into their little bodies—and onto their skin. That realization led me down a path of research, trial and error, and a deep appreciation for the power of simple, natural ingredients.
As a homemaker and homesteader, I’ve seen firsthand how connected we are to the things we eat, the products we use, and the land we live on. Raising our own food, making our own remedies, and crafting skincare from wholesome, homegrown ingredients isn’t just a passion—it’s a way of life. That’s why I created Homemaker and an Acre—to share the very products I trust for my own family with yours.
I love being able to offer these handmade goods to my community, not just as products, but as a way to open the conversation about what goes into the things we use every day. Whether it’s a nourishing balm made from the lard of our heritage Kune Kune pigs or a herbal syrup steeped with care, every item has a story, a purpose, and a piece of my heart in it.
More than anything, I hope my products help others—whether by easing a little one’s discomfort, simplifying your skincare routine, or just giving you confidence in what you’re using for your family. Thank you for being here and for supporting a small business built on homegrown values, one acre at a time!
